In many ways Chicago born Sonny Stefani’s most recent project, Good Luck is a testament to the wide range of musical styles he grew up on. In an interview with WW HateSonny reveals details about his musical upbringing and touches on inspiration for his sophomore album Good Luck

All at a young age, Stefani’s father (previous DJ), exposed Stefani to an array of house music, jazz and blues. While Stefani’s mother introduced him to a combination of contemporary RnB + soul fusion. Hate Sonny’s musical upbringing swiftly translates track to track on Good Luck.  Each song, a unification of musical styles nostalgic to his childhood.

Songs like "Smoke Dancing", "2008", "Your Side" and "Lessons" all use RnB harmonics. While tracks such as “Holy Grail" (feat. nombreKARI) and “Handstand” (feat. Drew) balance hard verses and soft styles. Containing elements of contemporary hip-hop, blues and electronic styles HateSonny offers listeners a change of pace from previous releases.

Lyrically, Sonny’s previous projects just hit the tip of the iceberg. Good Luck breaks the surface.
